It’s that time of year again the Back to School Mayhem is in full swing.

Some of you are now old hands at managing the mayhem, you’ve had years of practice, and a few grey hairs for your troubles.

Or maybe you are new to it all as your little bundles of joy transition to their first year in ‘big school’.

And then, just when you think you have it all worked out, the big transition from Primary School to Secondary school hits, way too quickly for most!

But Back to School isn't just an adjustment for the children. Between uniforms, lunches, lifts, forgotten PE gear and the first sniffle arriving home, parents need a little support too.

And It’s never been easier to be Prepared!

Before the fight becomes all out war, consider Homeopathy to help you survive the chaos.  Read on for a taster of how your Homeopathy Survival Kit could work for you, The Parent.

Remember, the power of Homeopathy lies within the principle that your chosen remedy will match your individual symptom picture so it is always tailored to you.

Some of the challenges you face as a parent during the Back To School Mayhem are listed below, do any resonate with you?  If so, don’t wait for them to take over, Homeopathy is a powerful system to use as prevention, not just after the fact:

  1. Stress, overwhelm, mental overload – as you remember to buy a uniform, books, bags, colouring pencils, lunch boxes and anything else that pops up.
  2. Sleep difficulties as you coax the family back into a sleep pattern that has become a distant memory.
  3. Anxiety and worry – will they settle, will they make friends, will they be okay, will they miss me?
  4. Exhaustion, burnout – you’re trying to do it all
  5. Needing some ‘me time’

The transition from summer into structured family life again can be draining.  As parents you may feel you’re constantly rushing, organising and looking after everyone else, with very little time to recharge yourself.

The transition can be harder when you have a child that simply not wanting to go back can create anxiety for the whole family, so many of us as parents often carry our child's worries alongside our own, no matter what age our child is.

Remember, to best support your family, it is so important to recognise the need for self-care.

Simple things to remember:

  • Stop – Breathe – Reconnect. This will give you time to calm down and work through the emotions rationally.
  • Children are resilient. Much more so than we would like to think as parents. We often see the vulnerability, the fears, the uncertainties swimming around inside our children.  But remember, we all grow through experience. Resilience develops as we overcome challenge.
  • Let them know you are there for them, then let them go.
  • See their strengths.
  • Take time to recalibrate.
