I’M A HOMEOPATH, HEALER AND BREATHWORK TEACHER – AND STILL I DO THIS
Aug 17, 2026
- I skip breakfast - for some the most important meal of the day
- I eat chocolate - my favourite past time
- I avoid exercise - sometimes I’m just not in the mood
- I get angry - sometimes it’s justified
- I get frustrated with my kids - why can’t they read my mind
- I get overwhelmed - I’m a single mother, I run a business, I have a home to care for and bills to pay
- I hold my breath, forget to take a remedy, don’t book in for a healing - I go into freeze mode
My promise to myself is that each day I will aim to do at least 3 of these things (the more the merrier!)
- I will get myself out of bed! Sure why would I stay!
- I will comb my hair - believe me, it's non-negotiable.
- I will do an angelic clearance, protection and grounding - now we're talking.
- I know it’s okay to be human, not super-human - well some days.
- I will allow myself to process my emotions - possibly best when I'm on my own.
- I will reset when I’m ready, not when everyone else is - so.....go away!
Confession time...
You know, when you decide to become any kind of healer, something strange seems to happen.
We suddenly believe we're supposed to become... perfect.
The minute I walked out of my very first Reiki Practitioner training, I genuinely thought, "Right then, that's sorted. I'll never overreact, get overwhelmed, lose my patience, or wonder what on earth I'm doing ever again."
Spoiler alert... that lasted approximately until I got home!
Then I kept studying.
I became a Homeopath.
An Angelic Healer.
A Crystal Healer.
A Breathwork Teacher.
I studied Psychic Development.
I added more qualifications, more tools, more ways to help others...
And with every course completed, with every new qualification, came an unspoken belief that I should now float serenely through life, glowing gently, speaking only in wise words, never getting stressed, never doubting myself – ever again.
The reality?
I'm a human being.
I'm a woman.
I'm a mother... and, in some situations, I've had to be the father too.
I'm a therapist.
I'm a business owner.
I'm a friend.
I'm a work colleague.
Some days I'm calm and centred.
Some days I misplace my keys while they're in my hand, cry at an advert, search for my glasses that are perched precariously on top of my head and wonder why I walked into the kitchen.
Healing doesn't make us perfect.
It makes us aware.
It gives us tools to come back to ourselves more quickly when life inevitably knocks us sideways.
Because healers don't graduate from being human.
We simply learn how to navigate being human with a little more compassion, a little more wisdom, and hopefully... a sense of humour.
Perfection was never the goal.
Being authentically, magnificently human, with all its quirks and imperfections, always was.
So today be kind to yourself, you are not supposed to be perfect.
Love & Light,
Martina
